It provides 10 position updates per second as opposed to the Nuvi and also Garmin Handhelds that only update once per second. It works, but is slow to acquire and doesn't get a signal inside my home where my Garmin devices will work. I was not impressed with the internal GPS in the Galaxy tab. I added a 32gb card to my Galaxy tab, but that is for all the large maps I created myself. That probably isn't a big deal, assuming they have a card slot. The other issue was that all the 7" tablets Best Buy carried only had 8gb internal memory. I make my own maps that have much more detail than Garmin though, so I wanted a big screen. I think a 7" tablet is a good size, I debated a lot over whether I wanted to go to 8".
